A combined-cycle power plant generates electricity by combining two cycles: a gas cycle and a steam cycle. In the first cycle, production is powered by the combustion of natural gas. In the second cycle, the heat contained in the exhaust gases from the turbine is recovered and converted into additional electrical energy.
